Software Engineer - Internship or Student Job

We are currently looking for a student to join our software engineering team.

NOS Microsystems is a high-technology company in the software industry.

We focus on providing self-developed, innovative distribution technologies for digital goods (PC software, mobile software, entertainment, music, online content) to leading software vendors, telecommunication companies, and media companies worldwide.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

• Software Development on Windows 2000, Windows 9x, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and MacOS X platforms
• Independent Development of Client/Server/Peer-Applications under C/C++
• Peer-oriented/Peer-based procurement of data, data bases (MySQL), server installations (Apache), installation and integration of computer systems (File-Sharing).

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have:

• Willingness to engage for a longer period (at least 6 months, preferably longer)
• Development of complex system programs for Linux, MacOS X, Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista
• Development of Client/Server/Peer-Applications under C/C++
• Further development of programs for compression techniques
• Working knowledge of development tools (C, VC++)
• Development of web-based services with script languages (PHP)
• Network-based software development and working knowledge of MySQL
• Compression software development experience a plus

This is a very varied role and will include much more and will help you gain valuable work experience.
